@AleXy86

Keep in mind that it took Apple 8 months to patch a Safari exploit which allowed for backdoor intrusion and takeover of a Mac platform.

Also keep in mind that when Mac Defender struck (twice), Apple told it’s customer care employees to refuse help for any customer who called in needing a solution. All this after Apple bragged openly about bulletproof security and stability in OSX.

@cyberboy109

Quote from Charlie Miller, Pwn2Own Hack Champion and Mac Lover:

“The things that Windows do to make it harder (for an exploit to work), Macs don’t do. Hacking into Macs is so much easier. You don’t have to jump through hoops and deal with all the anti-exploit mitigations you’d find in Windows.”

Did you do this one your Mac? If so, you sold me on it.

PhantomRockstargirl March 15, 2012 at 4:25 pm

Very cool! We watched this in one of my classes today, very good job! :)

@AleXy86 I never once mention malware I used the word security that covers hacking and malware ,Yes I kno both systems are easily hacked but out the 2 mac osx are still not as easy as windows…as for using the same method not totally true less than 3%….your statements are not accurate dude…out the 2 oses I would rather use mac osx than windows…I dont own a mac or use windows

@cyberboy109 Btw; bc one of the most common errors is to believe that Apple patches fast and secure and that you only need that for overall protection. While this is true, for some of the threats via the Net, you can still use the same method and malware to infect the Mac Computer. In this case: not via the Internet, IF Apple patched that security hole, but instead from an external medium (usb-stick). This is also demonstrated in one of the videos, in the link I posted below. Solution = an AV.

AleXy86 March 15, 2012 at 6:35 pm

@cyberboy109 I never said Macs have more Malware threats than a Windows PC has. It wouldn’t make sense anyway, since Macs aren’t as widly spread like Windows PCs are. The link wasn’t about showing how “many” threats (as in total numbers) there are for Macs (vs. Windows), but instead; to show how easy a Mac system can get infected and how similar these threats are to the ones we know from the Windows world. It is recommended to us a sec. solution on your Mac – just to be sure. Don’t be naiv.

cyberboy109 March 15, 2012 at 7:35 pm

Hmm nice but Microsoft has never made a pc only a os..

cyberboy109 March 15, 2012 at 8:34 pm

@AleXy86 This made me laugh an updated version of vista or 7 even with the highest protection software is still more of a threat….windows 7 has over 102 security flaws the link you posted only shows a small amount compared to windows xp/vitsa/7 doesnt give a proper figure…windows is actually easer to hack due to the way they use protocols to sign into stuff….walk about with a pineapple router and watch how many window based systems u can get into compared to macs…

Lonewolf2653 March 15, 2012 at 9:09 pm

So bad ass

AleXy86 March 15, 2012 at 9:16 pm

@TheDollarDeals lol, YOU fail to understand, that Macs are actually even easier to hack/infect, when compared to an updated Windows Vista/7 PC (btw: MSE is free nowadays, so you don’t even have to buy an Antivirus anymore). Don’t believe me? Then allow me to teach you something, kid (replace DOT COM with the real deal): nakedsecurity.sophos DOT COM/2011/10/03/mac-malware-history/ <- Read, understand, believe, take a deep breath – and then get an Antivirus for your Mac. Thank you for your time.

Momurdayoass March 15, 2012 at 9:17 pm

thats pretty good

BattlefieldFTW1000 March 15, 2012 at 9:25 pm

@AstroWaldo WARNING WARNING, NO LIFE ALERT. If you are so good at computers, shouldn’t you know better english?

eateroftheflame March 15, 2012 at 9:39 pm

@TheDollarDeals You don’t have to worry about viruses unless you’re a pirate or you think it’s a good idea to open attachments sent by strangers

iiwDgiB March 15, 2012 at 10:02 pm

@TheDollarDeals Who uses norton?

TheDollarDeals March 15, 2012 at 10:55 pm

MrTrootsky March 16, 2012 at 12:32 am

@wArGa5m1 can you tell me the.parts of your computer

wArGa5m1 March 16, 2012 at 1:26 am

Macs are extremely overpriced piece of shit. I was gonna buy a mac for $1400 untill i built a computer myself with the exact same specs for $650 so macs. I dont know one person who knows shit about computer hardware and buys a mac.

rmschris12 March 16, 2012 at 1:40 am

Computers all suck, just in different ways! :)

AstroWaldo March 16, 2012 at 2:32 am

@nomad27, too bad Mac users don’t understand a word you said. They don’t know shit about computers, that’s why they bought a Mac, the safety scissors of computers. They say Macs are simple enough for young children to use, lets keep that way.
